Auckland Sky Tower Inverted: NZ Landscape – Original acrylic painting of the Auckland Sky Tower by Kirsten McIntosh
Auckland Sky Tower Inverted: NZ Landscape. I took this photo whilst visiting Auckland (New Zealand), one of our largest cities. I don’t spend much time in Auckland but enjoyed this weekend away and took some great views of the city and its architecture. I decided to make the scene a bit more contemporary and I chose to invert the colours to give it a purple and umber look.
One of my first career ambitions was to become an architect so I did a lot of Tech Drawing classes which involved perspective drawings and scale. So it was nice to put this into practice a little bit. Even so it was very challenging to get the cities buildings in perspective along side the mighty sky tower.
I really feel that the colours merge in this painting and it is very cohesive. The rich colours in this painting are unified. I only use five or so colours so that all of my work has a consistent look.
This painting is available through Mobile Art Gallery. You can either liaise directly with that gallery or purchase through my website and I will advise the gallery accordingly.
